Nakash Aziz on his collab with Shreya Ghoshal
Talking about his collaboration with Ghoshal, the singer said, “It’s my third or fourth song with Shreya. But I am actually so happy that I don’t even remember if it’s my third or fourth. That actually says a lot. Never thought that it would be like a part of my conversation in the distinction that I have talked.”
When asked about the challenges he faced while working with Shreya Ghoshal, Nakash Aziz replied, “A challenge to have worked with someone like Shreya Ghoshal is, you know you have to match that kind of fall. She is on a league, on a pedestal. Whenever she performs a song you have to make sure that you get what she’s done. It becomes about complimenting her rather than spoiling what she has done. I feel every artist brings an energy to an art piece and music is such a collaborative process of art. It’s one vision. With music, it’s always multiple personalities. In music, multiple personalities try to create an art.”
The singer-composer concluded, “So even one bad performance or even one performance that is not up to the mark can spoil the entire thing. So when a Shreya Ghoshal comes on the table she takes it to another level. A level which very few artists can do such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, or Arijit Singh. Talking about people from India, I am glad that whatever we have done together at least I have, has been appreciated by people. And it has not gotten a response like ‘Are kharab kar diya hai gaana’. So, Shreya is very sweet, she is encouraging or something but her voice is like music to my ears.”
